Precision CNC HMC Machinist — GD&T and G​/M Code Specialist

Role Overview Own the full machining cycle on CNC Horizontal Milling Centers and CNC Boring Mills: programming, setup, and operation for metal work pieces while upholding quality, safety, documentation, and equipment care.

Core Responsibilities Program from prints with GD&T using Mazatrol, Celos, and G/M codes; preferred exposure to Mazatrol 640M, Mazatrol Smooth, Tosnuc, and Celos.

Set up: mount, align, and secure tools, fixtures, and work pieces using precision instruments and hand tools.

Operate: start machines, monitor processes, and record operational data; verify continuous lubrication and cooling.

Inspect: measure dimensions with precision instruments, templates, and fixtures; adjust tooling and machine parameters to meet specifications.

Control: insert and edit control instructions; perform offsets and program adjustments during runs.

Sequence: stop machines to remove finished parts or to change tooling, setups, or part placement in accordance with machining steps.

Quality: examine parts for defects (e.g., chipped edges, marred surfaces) and sort nonconforming pieces by flaw type.

Troubleshoot: identify issues such as dull cutting tools or vibration by sound/feedback and replace or correct immediately.

Connectivity: transfer commands from servers to CNC modules via network links.

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.

Skills & Experience Proficient in: GD&T, CNC tooling, CNC programming, G‑code, M‑code, and production run setups.

Mechanical knowledge of machine design, use, maintenance, and basic repair.

Production and processing knowledge: materials, processes, quality control, cost, and efficiency.

Applied mathematics: trigonometry, algebra, and geometry.

Commitment to ongoing development through courses and technical publications.

Physical/Mental Demands Control Precision, Reaction Time, Rate Control.

Perceptual Speed for rapid, accurate comparisons of dimensions and features.

Equipment & ControlsCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC):
Fanuc, Mazak, DMG Mori Seiki.

CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC):
Fanuc, Mazak, DMG Mori Seiki.

Controls:
Mazatrol (including 640M, Smooth), Tosnuc, Celos.

Work Practices Maintain accurate records of setups, offsets, tool changes, and inspection outcomes.

Keep equipment and supplies in top condition through routine care and timely maintenance.

Follow established safety procedures and quality standards throughout every operation.
