Mill-Turn Machinist - 2nd Shift

CNC Machinist

2nd Shift, Monday - Friday 5:00pm - 3:30am

$2.00 shift differential + overtime after 8 hours each shift

Program, set-up and operate a CNC Mazak Integrex or Multi-Tasking Machine to perform multiple functions on metal work pieces while maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping accurate records and maintaining equipment and supplies.

• Program an Integrex/ Multi-tasking machine/ mill turn through the use of G&M codes and/or conversational controls.
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates and fixtures.
• Examine completed work pieces for defects such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
• Mount, install, align and secure tools, attachments fixtures and work pieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup or workpiece placement according to required machining sequences.
• Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules using computer network links.
• Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools.
• Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
• Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED required. Mazatrol experience a plus. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Stays current with job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and studying technical publications. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of trigonometry, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications

Required to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to function in a machine shop environment. Work schedule generally consists of 40+ hours per week, which may include overtime, on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
