Position: LPN - ANCMG INTERNAL MEDICINE

Position Summary

The primary purpose of a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) is to provide direct patient care, teach patients and families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care team to maintain high nursing standards under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Department Summary

As an LPN in the Aultman Medical Group, you will support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. Your duties include rooming patients, taking vitals, drawing blood, administering vaccinations, performing EKGs, answering and directing phone calls, proposing medication refills, and assisting patients, providers, and coworkers with various administrative and clinical tasks.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Current, active licensure as an LPN through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training with Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) certification.
  • IV certification is preferred.
Department Qualifications
  • Active Ohio LPN license.
  • Medical office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic nursing services and evidence‑based practice.
  • Collect comprehensive patient data and report changes to the RN.
  • Document nursing activities accurately and timely.
  • Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote health and safety under RN direction.
  • Administer treatments, medications, and monitor patient responses.
  • Collect specimens and maintain specimen integrity.
  • Contribute to professional development of peers, colleagues, and students.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide patient advocacy and promote safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of current nursing practice and applicable policies.
  • Adhere to professional standards, ethical actions, statutes, and regulations during nursing practice.
  • Use High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools and maintain a culture of safety.
  • Review emails, department communications, and learning assignments promptly and complete them as required.
Department Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Perform general nursing care and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Assist with equipment prep and aid providers during treatment, examination, and testing.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' conditions and reactions to medications.
Working Conditions
  • Meal and break times are coordinated with other staff members to maintain coverage.
  • Shifts are scheduled or changed based on staffing needs, volume, and acuity.
  • Work weekends and holidays as assigned or based on department needs.
  • Cross training occurs as required by departmental needs.
Department Working Conditions
  • Work eight to ten hours a day.
  • Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with colleagues to ensure floor coverage.
  • Cross training across all areas within the department is required.
  • Staff may be assigned to different locations within AMG/ANCMG.
  • Physical requirements include handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, sitting, standing, walking for extensive periods, and occasional lifting up to 100 lbs or higher.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges are required.
  • Work may involve stressful situations and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids is possible.
Hazardous Exposure Category

Category I – tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Appropriate protective measures are required for all employees engaged in such tasks.
