Quality Technician
The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting product quality, safety compliance, and manufacturing consistency throughout the product lifecycle. This role serves as a hands-on technical resource bridging production, quality, and engineering, ensuring products meet internal specifications and external regulatory standards. This position focuses on inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, while also supporting customer-related quality issues and product validation activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, and validation activities to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
- Support compliance with applicable safety standards (UL, VDE, CSA, TÜV) through testing, documentation, and audits.
- Partner with Engineering and Production to ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with existing processes and equipment.
- Assist in product changes, revisions, and new component evaluations to ensure quality and fit within current manufacturing capabilities.
- Work with Quality and Production teams to verify materials, components, and finished goods meet internal specifications.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain to assess supplier quality, capabilities, and incoming material standards.
- Support customer product evaluations, technical inquiries, and return/quality issue analysis.
- Perform and support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product or process issues.
- Assist in new product introduction (NPI) activities including lab testing, first article inspections, and validation.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation, test records, and inspection reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve product quality, manufacturability, and process efficiency.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or lab/testing environment.
- Experience supporting production, quality inspection, or product validation processes.
- Prior experience working in cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in quality control and assurance practices.
- Experience in root cause analysis and understanding of ISO standards.
- Capability to assess supplier quality and manage supplier relationships.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Canton, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
