Inside Sales Representative
Full‑time permanent position located in North Canton, OH.
FCX Performance, part of Applied Industrial Technologies, is a leading process flow control company. As an Inbound‑Inside Sales Representative, you will establish and expand relationships with current customers and the outside sales team. You’ll spend your time interacting with customers to determine their process flow control and instrumentation needs, while providing solutions to meet those needs. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction, retention and sales results.

- Sell company products and services to customers by processing orders, answering price and delivery inquiries, providing technical and application information, soliciting orders and suggesting additional products in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.
- Maintain responsibility for orders from quotation to collection.
- Select and specify a variety of products using FCX and vendor tools and software.
- Respond to customer inquiries and process orders with accurate acknowledgements.
- Review purchase orders for special conditions and documentation.
- Check availability and verify ship dates.
- Increase order size by suggesting related items, explaining features, and reviewing customers’ buying history.
- Process and expedite orders, customer returns and returns to vendors accurately and timely; create purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure delivery.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery with vendors when necessary.
- Work closely with outside sales to solicit business, execute transactions and maintain superior customer service levels.
- Communicate effectively and participate positively on the inside sales team (e.g., sharing workload, picking up incoming calls).
- Maximize gross margin by ensuring FCX receives payment for superior service, problem solving and technical expertise.
- Review open customer order reports and take action on items that risk missing promised delivery dates.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–3+ years experience in customer service or inside technical sales role with an industrial distributor preferred.
