Role Description
The Experienced Low Voltage Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in North Canton, OH. This role involves installing, terminating, and testing low voltage cabling for voice, data, security, and other network systems in commercial and industrial environments. The technician will interpret blueprints and schematics, route cable pathways, mount and configure hardware, and ensure all work complies with applicable codes and company standards.
Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving system issues, performing preventative maintenance on low voltage infrastructure, and documenting work performed. The technician will collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and peers, maintain a safe work environment, and provide professional on-site customer interaction.
- Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills for low voltage systems.
- Solid understanding of principles and basic electrical engineering concepts relevant to low voltage applications.
- Hands‑on experience working with electrical equipment related to structured cabling, network hardware, security systems, and telecom infrastructure.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and job specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards, codes, and best practices for on‑site fiber optic, and low voltage work.
- Prior experience as a low voltage technician, cable installer, or similar field role preferred.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely, work from ladders or lifts, and perform physically active tasks throughout the day.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites; willingness to travel locally as needed.
- Relevant technical training, apprenticeship, or certification in low voltage, or cabling disciplines is a plus.
