Stark State College is seeking a skilled and versatile Electrical and Building Automation Maintenance Technician (or as we refer to it Electrical Controls Technician) to join our Facilities team. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position serves as the campus expert in electrical systems, power distribution, Automated Logic Building Automation Systems (BAS), and fire protection networks while also performing a broad range of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility maintenance duties.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a hands-on, multi-craft approach to maintaining campus buildings, equipment, and systems, while supporting a safe, efficient, reliable, and operational learning environment.

Mon-Fri, 7:30am - 4:00pm

The primary work location for this position will be the College's main campus; however, the employee may be assigned to and work at various Stark State College campus locations based on departmental and operational needs.
Pay: $56,619 - $73,531/annually. This is a 250-day contract position, with compensation commensurate with experience.

TypicalResponsibilities Include:
- Program, monitor, troubleshoot, modify, and optimize the campus Automated Logic Building Automation System (BAS) and WebCTRL software.
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems, lighting, control panels, instrumentation, and low-voltage systems.
- Troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm systems, electronic safety devices, sensors, actuators, and related control systems.
- Diagnose complex electrical, automation, mechanical, and facility system issues and implement effective, long-term solutions.
- Perform multi-craft maintenance and repairs involving HVAC equipment, plumbing, building structures, machinery, electrical wiring, and fixtures.
- Adjust and optimize building systems to improve performance, energy efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Respond to priority system alarms and support snow removal and other campus maintenance needs as required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of three years of full-time experience in advanced electrical maintenance, building automation/control systems, instrumentation, and multi-craft facility maintenance.
- Required electrical certifications, registrations, or licenses applicable to the position. A valid Ohio driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are also required.
An Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a closely related technical field, as well as Automated Logic/BAS training or certifications, NICET certification, or other relevant technical credentials.
