At Ohio Machinery Co., we pride ourselves on delivering top-notch construction equipment and exceptional service to our customers. We're looking for a dedicated and professional Driver to join our rental department and help us continue our mission of excellence.

Summary

The Driver’s main priority is to transport Ohio Machinery general construction equipment to and from customers and/or other locations via tractor-trailer. As a team member of the rental department, the Driver will ensure the completion of rental agreements and inspect the equipment before delivery and upon return.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Verifies notes on iPad, and delivery and pick up instructions in DSI.
  • Attempts to contact the customer by phone or text and leave a voicemail, when necessary, before delivery or pick-up.
  • Notifies dispatcher of late deliveries or any other relevant issues.
  • Adheres to employee CDL driving policies.
  • Ensures the Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). is completely compliant.
  • Completes driver’s daily inspection reports before the first run every morning in the DSI mobile application.
  • Reports all suspected customer damage to the dispatcher immediately upon identification along with adding damage photos to the INSPCT task.
  • Wears appropriate dress code including high visibility shirts and work boots.
  • Adheres to the Driver Vehicle Care expectations policies.
  • Interacts with dispatch personnel throughout the day to support changing demand for equipment regularly.
  • Loads, unloads, and verifies the inventory r and attachment  # match the move in DSI.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum

Skills and Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A strong working knowledge of all rental equipment is preferred.
  • Must be able to remain professional with language and tone and demonstrate high levels of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Driver should be open-minded, focused on customer needs, cooperative and able to work with a team, and flexible.
  • Must have a clean driving record, less than 4 points, a Class A CDL License, and a current Medical Certification Card.

Physical Requirements

The functions of the position require lifting, carrying, and pulling up to 50 pounds. Standing, sitting, moving up and down stairs, and climbing on and off delivery vehicles and into machines will be required. Functions of the position require normal dexterity and repetitive and frequent movements that require hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
