Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Zebulon

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Zebulon, North Carolina. This Contract to permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment while ensuring efficient processing of outgoing payments. The role is part-time, requiring 24 to 29 hours per week, and focuses on maintaining accuracy and compliance in financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

- Process and code accounts payable invoices, including matching them to purchase orders and packing slips.

- Verify and seek approval for invoices that do not align with purchase orders.

- Prepare checks for mailing by matching them to corresponding invoices.

- Address discrepancies in invoices by coordinating with purchasing, shipping, and engineering teams.

- Assist in monthly and annual reconciliation of accounts payable aging reports and unvouchered receipts.

- Support year-end financial processing tasks and reporting.

- Organize and file accounts payable checks, invoices, and related documentation.

- Generate ad-hoc reports and respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment statuses.

- Retrieve purchase order receipt paperwork on a biweekly basis.

- Conduct additional payment status inquiries as needed. Requirements - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Excel formulas and spreadsheets.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.

- Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

- Experience in interacting with vendors and employees in a detail-oriented and effective manner.

- High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years of accounting experience.

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling financial information.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial systems, such as Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

- Capability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting 20-50 pounds and repetitive hand movements.
