The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. This position is expected to supply accurate financial data to the Management Team to ensure business effectiveness.
Duties- Have full functional understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting closing activities
- Create and enter journal entries as assigned
- Escalate general ledger account discrepancies as they arise to ensure consistency for financial reporting
- Contribute to daily accounting activities within AR and AP as assigned
- Escalate AR and AP discrepancies as they arise to ensure consistent alignment with both customers and suppliers
- Provide transaction backup documentation for audit activities as assigned
- Ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned
- Associates Degree or equivalent education and experience
- One to three years related experience preferred
- Hands-on experience working with general ledgers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office systems
- Able to organize and prioritize work effectively
- Follow through to ensure work is complete and delivered in a timely manner
- Exceptional Internal and External Customer Service
