Mission of the RoleThe Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the facility's billing operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoice processing while supporting overall financial performance. This individual will lead and develop the billing team, partner closely with operations, customer service, sales, and finance, and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesBilling Operations & Team Leadership
- Oversee the daily activities of the billing department to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing.
- Lead, train, mentor, and develop billing team members.
- Establish best practices and maintain billing standards across the department.
- Monitor workload distribution and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the billing team.
- Assist with margin management initiatives and reporting.
- Review billing transactions to ensure accuracy and alignment with company policies.
- Identify discrepancies and partner with internal stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes as needed.
- Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvements.
- Serve as a key liaison between billing, operations, customer service, sales, and finance teams.
- Partner with internal departments to improve communication and streamline workflows.
- Support organizational initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Ensure billing activities align with operational objectives and customer expectations.
- Develop and implement efficient, effective, and accurate billing processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, controls, and reporting capabilities.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and support.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across the billing function.
- Participate in departmental and company-wide projects.
- Support system enhancements, process optimization initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist with implementation of new processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms as needed.
- Prior billing experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading, training, or mentoring team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, qualifications, experience, responsibilities, and relevant education and training.
