In this job, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations to manage financial functions, utilize strong analytical skills to create detailed reporting and management information, have problem‑solving attitude, and possess the ability to effectively manage a team and work independently with little supervision to accomplish goals.

- Direct supervision of accounts payable/receivable personnel, including performance monitoring
- Manage daily accounting operations for adherence to internal policies and GAAP, including:
- Cash receipts
- ACH, wire and credit card payment postings
- Payroll postings
- Bank reconciliations
- Major account reconciliations
- Management reporting
- Account variance analysis
- Fixed asset activity
- Prepare monthly sales tax reporting, and other compliance reporting as required
- Prepare financial reports monthly, and assist with annual outside financial review
- Prepare managerial reports as scheduled, and assist with special reporting as needed
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation for all financial transactions
- Assist with establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls – including providing recommendations to improve systems, policies, and/or procedures and initiating corrective actions when necessary
- Strong internal communication skills, oral and written, within all levels of the organization
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Superior analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills to facilitate evaluation of business issues to provide alternatives and recommendations
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment in a team and individually
- Proficient working knowledge of ERP systems
- Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
- Advanced computer skills, with ability to manipulate large amounts of data (specifically Excel - using advanced formulas, creating charts and pivot tables)
- Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus
- Education/Training/
Experience: - BS degree in accounting
- Seven to ten years of progressive financial responsibility
- Five years proven direct supervisory experience
- Work Hours and Environment:
- Working hours are M-F 9am to 5:30pm
- Work Environment is an office that is air‑conditioned/heated according to the season
- This position reports to the Rural Hall, NC location
