Responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and administration of the College's purchasing functions including the processing of requisitions, purchase orders, and P-Card purchases.
- Provide support and input to the Purchasing and Financial Aid Specialist, Vice President of Budget and Finance, and the AVP for Budget and Finance on all matters related to procurement.
- Work collegially with the Accounts Payable on accounts payable matters related to procurement.
- Assist in coordinating the college's year-end inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Assist in preparation of year-end journal entries pertaining to supply inventories.
- Review requisitions applying all state and BCC purchasing procedures and regulations.
- Coordinate required inspections for purchases following NCCCS guidelines.
- Assist end users with purchases and purchasing processes.
- Assist vendors with questions and information needed for purchase orders.
- Communicate with staff, shipping and receiving, and vendors regarding missing or damaged items.
- Ensure requisition accuracy as relates to vendor, commodity code, prices, description and required documentation.
- Prepare and distribute purchase orders to vendor, the originator of order, and Accounts Payable using North CarolinaE-procurement.
- Process P-Card purchases to ensure compliance with BCC and state purchasing policies and assist with monthly reports for fund allocation.
- Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes/bids and resolve problems relating to purchasing, shipping, and receiving goods and/or services.
- Assist with all required purchasing reporting.
- Post surplus items for sale or transfer as needed and coordinate the distribution and pickup process.
- Assist other Business Office staff as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

- Associate Degree in Accounting or other related field
- Must obtain North Carolina Contract Manager (NCCM) certification within one (1) year of employment, as required by the State of North Carolina.
- Experience with accounting systems, particularly an ERP
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with concentration in accounting or related field
- 1-2 years of finance experience with a focus on procurement
- Experience in Purchasing, especially with Ariba's E-Procurement System
- Current North Carolina Contract Manager (NCCM) certification
