Position SummaryRowan‑Cabarrus Community College is accepting applications for the Dean’s Assistant in our Health and Human Services department. Under the supervision of the Dean of Health and Human Services, the Dean’s Assistant performs a variety of administrative and technical duties to support the daily operations and strategic initiatives of the division. The Dean’s Assistant is responsible for coordinating office activities, managing schedules and communications, maintaining records and documentation, and providing direct support to the Dean and departmental leadership.
This position serves as a key point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and external partners, ensuring efficient and timely communication and workflow throughout.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Associate degree or higher.
- Experience working in a community college setting, preferably with allied health programs.
- Familiarity with Colleague/Datatel, NC e-Procurement, Docusign or other similar systems.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to converse professionally, both written and orally, with all levels of the college.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of health care and some medical terminology is preferred.

Duty and Responsibility1. Performs a variety of administrative activities, which may include: making travel arrangements; scheduling and coordinating meetings and/or events; transcribing meeting minutes; preparing and reviewing financial and/or statistical reports; and planning and coordinating schedules; and managing calendars.
2. Collects, compiles, prepares, reviews, and records paperwork, databases, spreadsheets, applications, forms, reports, and/or confidential information related to assigned area of responsibility, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information; maintains related records.
3. Performs a variety of technical accounting duties including monitoring budgets, accounts, billings, and/or expenditures.
4. May prioritize and assign work to lower level staff, monitor the performance of lower level staff; and train staff on work methods and procedures.
5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
