Floating Circulation Services Assistant (Multi-Campus) – Library Services Assistant
Position Summary:
The Floating Part‑time Library Assistant provides flexible support across library locations (North, South, and NCRC) starting in the Fall ’26 semester. This position ensures continuity of essential library services during staff absences and peak usage periods. The assistant delivers frontline customer service, circulation support, basic reference assistance, space supervision, and clerical duties to maintain a welcoming, functional, and student‑centered library environment.
Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; average 12‑15 hours per week, with possible fluctuations for operational needs.
Location:
Library Services North (but may include other campuses as needed).
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and six months of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.
- Customer service principles.
- Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment.
- Basic filing and record‑keeping principles.
- Basic office equipment maintenance procedures.
- Computers and related software applications.
- Filing, processing information via established procedures, using modern office equipment, maintaining records and files, monitoring work, using a computer and related software applications, communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc.
Part‑time role performed in person only; not eligible for remote work, including during department closures, college closures, or virtual learning days.
