Job DescriptionThe Administrative Assistant of College Readiness provides administrative and student support services for the CCR Division. Serves as primary point of contact for students and public, coordinates student assessments and HiSET testing, maintains records, supports performance data for state/federal reporting, and assists with retention and recruitment.
Works closely with instructors to ensure compliance with testing/reporting requirements, provides technology support, facilitates student transitions to postsecondary opportunities, and contributes to program effectiveness through administrative support, committee participation, and professional development.
Responsibilities- Receptionist for the CCR Division, providing general information to the public.
- Input student testing data, monitor data, and coordinate post‑testing efforts with instructors to meet federal and state measures.
- Oversee data for state, federal, and WIOA monthly reports; email instructors MSG spreadsheets monthly.
- Check and approve student attendance weekly.
- Serve as HiSET testing check‑in (in person), including evening hours; provide graduation information in Advansys.
- Coordinate assessment process for CCR students in the WCC service area, including orientation, administering assessments, and ensuring appropriate test administrators at other locations.
- Ensure instructors are certified for specific tests and meet NRS requirements, maintaining certification spreadsheets and notifying instructors when recertification is needed.
- Act as retention specialist for CCR students, coordinating with instructors, monitoring attendance, contacting students/mailings for follow‑up, and monitoring attendance for minors under NC Driver’s License law.
- Implement and coordinate recruitment efforts within the service area.
- Provide information to Adult High School and HSE graduates for entering post‑secondary education/training programs.
- Prepare documents and reports using Microsoft Office.
- Serve as contact for CCR students on technology issues.
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Office Systems Technology, or related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and strong organizational / time‑management skills.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Ability to communicate with employees and students at all levels.

Physical DemandsWork is performed under general supervision in an office setting with climate controls. Requires good judgment, strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, discretion, and ability to work under pressure. Travel, evening, and weekend work required. Light work: lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally or up to 5 pounds frequently. Requires long sitting periods.

SalarySalary range: $31,200 to $42,000 based on education and experience, per college salary plan.
