OverviewThe Grant Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling meetings, preparing materials, maintaining project and scholar records, working with Local Education Agencies, data collection for reporting, communicating with scholars, project team members, and families of individuals with autism and moderate to severe disabilities. The coordinator will organize and manage records, manage data using a variety of computer applications (spreadsheets, word processing, other online data collection systems, etc).
This position will assist with the delivery of a US Department of Education Personnel Preparation grant including but not limited to budget management, dissemination of grant information, data generation and reporting, activity scheduling, and Local Education Agencies coordination. Project ELEVATE is a US Department of Education grant, funded to support the interprofessional preparation of graduate students to support individuals with autism and moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
This position is dependent upon these grant funds and is time-limited.
- Schedule meetings and prepare materials for project stakeholders.
- Maintain project and scholar records, ensuring data integrity.
- Collect, analyze, and report data mandatory for the grant obligations.
- Communicate regularly with scholars, project team members, families, and Local Education Agencies.
- Assist with budget management and financial reporting.
- Disseminate grant information and coordinate activity scheduling.
- Support grant compliance by following university and federal policies.
- Budgeting practices familiarity and competence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across various media.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with data management and office technology programs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and facilitate workflow to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Coordination and support skills for scholars, resource management, monitoring activities, and quality control related to grant tasks.
- Knowledge of institutional policies, US Department of Education procedures, and ability to explain this information to faculty, students, and staff.
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
- Prior grant or administrative experience in a university office environment.
- Earned master’s in education or a related area from an accredited university.
- Ability to collaborate with other WCU programs and faculty for student information.
- Experience advising scholars in higher education.
- Strong oral and written communication, self-initiative, and follow-through on directions.
- Professional report writing skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including databases.
- Budgeting experience.
- Experience managing funded grant projects.
- Knowledge of university policy and procedures, website management skills.
