Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Foundation Specialist is responsible for providing support to the HCC Foundation Inc. The Foundation Specialist will need familiarity with the HCC Foundation including College activities and events.
In order to fulfill the objectives of this position, the Foundation Specialist assists the Foundation Executive Director in daily tasks and activities. The position also assists in the management of the HCC Foundation activities, creates and maintains donor records and other databases, and assists Business Office staff members with preparation and management of financial records and other Foundation projects.

Required:- Provide support to the Foundation department while demonstrating integrity (honesty, trustworthiness, high moral values).
- Assist with coordination of events hosted by HCC’s Event Planning Committee and the HCC Foundation office.
- Process leave requests and check monthly leave reports for those employees that report directly to the Executive Director.
- Assist with requesting and processing applicant transcripts; preparing and distributing scholarship applications for committee review; reviewing applications from the committee; tallying scores; and preparing award notifications.
- Assist with maintaining Foundation contributions and receipts, and preparing donor acknowledgements.
- Create, maintain, and search databases and manipulate data to produce lists, mailing labels, and merged letters.
- Monitor scholarship recipient’s academic records for continued eligibility for all scholarships.
- Prepare, type, and edit correspondence, presentation materials, announcements and bulk mailings.
- Oversee the ordering of office supplies and purchase requisitions through NC E-Procurement; creating work order ticket request for the department as needed.
- Assist with the development of the HCC Alumni Association.
- Coordinate the implementation of the Blackbaud Software and attend trainings.
- Provide back up support to the ticket office in the Centre, as needed
- Submit travel requests and reimbursements on behalf of the Foundation Executive Director.
- Promote HCC in all areas.
- Maintain confidentiality with all communication and files.
- Maintain security of personal computer access.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Foundation.

Office Equipment OperationA personal computer is used in everyday operations. Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite are used, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Etapestry, and Gmail. The computer is also used for online research, fax distribution, and other tasks. This employee also uses a scanner, fax machine, copier, and telephone system.
Required:Minimum Education al Requirements
Associate Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, some computer applications and word processing skills.
- Must be customer-focused as there will be significant contact with donors, students, Foundation Board members, and the general public.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail oriented.
- Exceptional planning and organized skills.
- Proven ability to cultivate positive working relationships and gain the trust and respect of all levels of internal and external constituencies
- Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a college environment.
- Must demonstrate interpersonal skills applicable to working with diverse groups of stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree. Experience with Etapestry.
What are thePhysical Requirements of job?
Frequently requires standing, sitting, and walking.
Occasionally requires lifting (10-15 pounds), repetitious finger and wrist movement, and reaching both high and low.
