Description of Work

The Administrative Associate II is located at Alexander Correctional in Taylorsville, NC and works within the Health Services/Behavioral Health Section of the Department of Adult Corrections. Alexander houses up to 1,252 male offenders in a closed custody facility.

Positions at this level require (but are not limited to) processing all incoming and outgoing mail, receiving incoming shipments of supplies, materials, and/or equipment for the Mental Health department. Ensuring the efficient and timely processing of offender and staff mail while in compliance with established DAC policies and procedures. Coordinating research for mental health offender grievances. Performing a variety of office and/or technical tasks, in order to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents, and/or materials.

Scheduling mental health appointments, preparing and maintaining logs/reports, coordinating tracking systems for mental health offenders, and meeting daily and monthly deadlines. Communicating both orally and in writing with offenders, offender families, staff, management, government officials, and the general public.

/Management Preferences Salary Range $31,200-$51,249

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred (must be documented in work history):

  • Documented experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
  • Documented organizational and interpersonal skills as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
