Tire Installer

Job Description

The Tire Installer is responsible for adding value to each client’s transaction by ensuring satisfaction at Western Auto. Key duties include removing worn or defective tires and replacing them with new tires using necessary tools and equipment.

• Read and comprehend training manuals, service tickets, etc.
• Have basic knowledge about vehicles.
• Check basic elements of the vehicle’s tires according to Western Auto’s methods for tire and courtesy inspections.
• Install, replace, and fix tires and provide tire balancing services.
• Use diagnostic equipment – tire installation machines, balancing, and tire repair equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and the ability to drive cars with manual or automatic transmissions.
• Handle a fast-paced work environment, stress, and stressful situations in a professional manner.
• Perform maintenance tasks – sweeping/mopping the workshop floor, cleaning/maintaining equipment, emptying garbage bins, cleaning the parking area, etc.
• Operate the workshop lifts appropriately.
• Be competitive and have a team player’s attitude.
• Follow company guidelines in terms of protection, safety, hygiene, and dress code.
• Install batteries if a mechanics student under supervision.

This job requires continually standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, turning, and lifting weights up to approximately 75 lbs (sometimes exceeding 75 lbs). Perform additional tasks as required.

• Complete the Western Auto orientation training.
