BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for supporting MSC's Sales Team Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses to secure new and retain existing business. RFI/Proposal Writer Level 1 will focus on responding to standard customer proposals using MSC's content library of information. This includes editing standard responses to ensure alignment with overall business strategy. The position will also be asked to contribute to projects that support team or department initiatives as necessary including, but not limited to activities that support the efficiency and productivity and growth of the overall team.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintains and displays thorough and complete knowledge of the Company's services, solutions and processes.

· Write, edit, organize, produce and package high quality responses to standard RFI/RFP in compliance with customer detailed requirements, timelines, and delivery method expectations.

· Under the guidance of the department lead, support complex customer RFP responses.

· Work with the sales team to ensure the appropriate response is used to accurately meet the objectives of an RFI/Proposal.

· Participates and supports sales team with bid submission process, bid evaluation and post-bid requests such as proposal revisions, conference calls, and clarifications.

· Work on multiple RFI/Proposals balancing milestones and due dates of each.

· Assists in the development and maintains library of information for standard corporate information that can be used to complete RFI/RFP and leveraged by different cross functional teams.

· Solicits input from cross functional teams, including and not limited to;
Sales, Legal, Category Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance and mines other sources to develop Proposal/RFI submissions.

· Collects and maintains RFI/proposal content and provides improvement recommendations for boilerplate information.

· Promotes adherence to corporate principles, policies, standards, processes, procedures, branding and guidelines to write and produce compelling proposal content to create best-in-class proposals based on customer need and MSC goals.

· Assist with reporting and tracking of RFI and proposal projects (Win-Loss-Advance) and other projects or duties as requested by leadership.

· Support various administrative tasks for sales team; completing registration forms, bid forms, bid portal registrations, company forms and the management of software licenses.

· Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to fulfill MSC's mission.

· Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business Administration or a related field

· 3+ years of professional experience in supporting proposal and business development experience

SKILLS :

· Excellent writing and editing skills with specific attention to detail.

· Strong communication skills – verbal and written.

· Excellent customer service skills and familiarity with working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, and effective organizational skills

· Strong Microsoft Office Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

· Experience with Qvidian, Saleforce and SharePoint a plus

Compensation starting at $63,420 - $99,660 depending on candidate location and experience.
