Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and energetic Lead Daycare Teacher to join our team! You will be responsible for encouraging children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. The ideal candidate is nurturing, patient, and creative. If you have a passion for helping children learn and reach their potential, we want to hear from you!

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a minimum of an AA degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or must be working towards a degree.
  • Must have experience in a licensed Early Childhood facility.
  • Must have CPR and First Aid training or obtain them within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be punctual daily; check in and out to maintain accurate work hours.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records for children.
  • Ensure compliance with NC Rules and Regulations; all staff must adhere to these standards.
  • Obtain training in ITERS/ECERS or ensure classroom standards meet these rating scales within 6 months.
  • Create weekly lesson plans that promote social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
  • Keep activity plans current and accessible to parents and caregivers.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate interactions and ensure classroom activities are suitable for children's age and development.
  • Ensure classroom is fully stocked at the start and end of each day.
  • Allow children to go outside for at least an hour daily when weather permits.
  • Safely evacuate children in emergency situations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff, addressing concerns with the director.
  • Supervise Assistants and Floaters, integrating their support into classroom activities.
  • Request materials and supplies in writing with at least one-week notice; ensure all are in good condition.
  • Participate in fundraising efforts as required by the Board.
  • Provide basic care and evaluate children’s developmental milestones.
  • Update parents on children’s activities and progress.
