Position Summary

The Construction Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks on heavy civil construction sites, including site preparation, excavation, grading, concrete placement, pipe installation, and general cleanup. This position supports skilled trades and equipment operators to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with site preparation including digging, shoveling, raking, and compacting materials
  • Load, unload, and distribute materials and tools on-site
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, removing debris and hazards
  • Operate basic hand and power tools (shovels, rakes, jackhammers, compactors, etc.)
  • Support pipe crews, concrete crews, grading crews, and other field operations
  • Signal and guide equipment operators as needed
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and tradespeople to complete tasks safely and efficiently
  • Perform traffic control and flagging duties as needed
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA standards
Qualifications
  • Previous construction experience preferred, especially in civil/heavy highway or site development
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
