Construction Quality Inspector

RK&K's Construction Management and Engineering (CEI) team is actively seeking skilled Construction Quality Inspectors with expertise in interstate, roadway, and bridge construction. You will have the opportunity to work on fascinating projects and make a direct impact in the field. As a Construction Quality Inspector at RK&K, your primary role will be to conduct thorough inspections on materials, processes, safety measures, and documentation to ensure that all construction activities align with plans, specifications, and special provisions.

• Conduct detailed inspections of construction projects to verify the use of appropriate materials and construction processes, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and special provisions.
• Review construction drawings in preparation for inspections, demonstrating an understanding of the design aspects of the project.
• Record inspection results meticulously and communicate findings to your supervisor effectively.
• Perform field measurements to document quantities for pay items and other essential contract administration documentation.
• Inspect work zones for accurate traffic control setups, proper erosion control devices, and ensure effective utility coordination and resolution of right-of-way issues.

• At least 1 year of inspection experience is mandatory.
• Preferred experience and certifications in NCDOT inspection and materials testing (e.g., earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pavement preservation, and Erosion & Sedimentation Control).
• Familiarity with NCDOT's construction procedures is an advantage.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with a favorable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably.
