Sr Field Engineer - Bridge & Heavy Civil

Position Summary

Branch Civil is searching for a Bridge Field Engineer to join our well‑established, growing company.

Job responsibilities include:

• Reviews plans and computes for the superintendent and his organization any information required to make progress with the work.
• Measures and accurately computes quantities of work completed, recording these quantities in a daily record using engineering notation and location descriptions that can easily be identified in project plans and specifications.
• Administers, manages, and schedules all surveyors, including subcontractors, assigned to the project.
• Organizes and supervises project survey work.
• Responsible for the layout (vertical and horizontal) control work using all survey equipment.
• Compares in‑place work against drawings and specifications to assure overall accuracy.
• Stakes accurately and completely before work begins.
• Performs minor surveying (e.g., replacing disturbed/missing stakes, normal construction layout).
• Enforces and adheres to all company safety policies.

Travel:
The employee will need to travel to and from the work office and project site.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of form work experience, including pouring concrete, concrete testing, and bridge material acquisition.
• Experience with Bidwell equipment for placements and smoothing concrete.
• Effective and efficient decision‑maker.
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Advanced or excellent trigonometric and geometric skills.
• Basic language and speaking skills at a high school level.

Full‑time position, typically requiring 40 or more hours per week.

The role requires manual labor, including the use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Employees must have adequate vision and the ability to adjust focus.
