This full-time position performs various labor duties around the job site as needed.

• 1+ years of experience in construction
• Job knowledge and the ability to attain certifications as required
• Fit for duty

• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations
• Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and calling for repairs
• Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions (utility lines, equipment, workers, falling objects)
• Prepare work by studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams; calculating requirements; gathering supplies
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, position or move loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
• Safely move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials using articulated dump trucks
• Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and assist other workers
• Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones with appropriate training
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials with training
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
• Set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble or other waste materials
• Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools while distributing them to appropriate locations

Employees may operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and various other equipment and instruments.
