Position Overview

We are actively seeking a skilled Staff Associate to join our growing team. The Staff Associate – Construction Materials Testing (CMT) is responsible for supporting field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates. This entry‑level role is focused on collecting samples, performing standardized tests, documenting results, and assisting with project quality control. The position is ideal for candidates interested in gaining hands‑on experience in the construction or geotechnical engineering industry.

Minimum

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in construction, engineering, or geology is a plus.
  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, materials testing, or a related field.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with field testing of construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Collect samples of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates for laboratory testing.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Accurately document field activities, test results, and observations.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and report any safety concerns immediately.
  • Communicate professionally with contractors, site personnel, and team members.
  • Support senior technicians and engineers with data entry and report preparation.
  • Travel to project sites using company‑provided transportation.
