Staff Associate – Construction Materials Testing (CMT)
This entry‑level role supports field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates. Responsibilities include collecting samples, performing standardized tests, documenting results, and assisting with project quality control.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in construction, engineering, or geology is a plus.
- 0–2 years of experience in construction, materials testing, or a related field.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
- Assist with field testing of construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Collect samples of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates for laboratory testing.
- Perform basic laboratory tests under the supervision of senior staff.
- Accurately document field activities, test results, and observations.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment in accordance with company standards.
- Follow safety protocols and report any safety concerns immediately.
- Communicate professionally with contractors, site personnel, and team members.
- Support senior technicians and engineers with data entry and report preparation.
- Travel to project sites using company‑provided transportation.
