Key Duties and Responsibilities

* Operate bulldozers (Cat D6, D8, or similar) for site clearing, earthmoving, and grading

* Utilize GPS/grade control systems to maintain accurate cut/fill elevations

* Read and interpret digital site models, plans, and grade stakes

* Perform daily equipment inspections (pre- and post-shift)

* Coordinate with foremen and surveyors to ensure grade accuracy

* Maintain smooth surfaces and proper drainage patterns

* Assist with site cleanup and general labor tasks as needed

* Report equipment issues promptly

* Follow all safety procedures and OSHA standards

* Maintain production efficiency and minimize rework

Qualifications

* 3+ years experience operating a dozer in heavy civil or site development

* Experience with GPS machine control systems (Trimble, Topcon, Leica, etc.)

* Ability to read grade stakes and construction plans

* Understanding of earthmoving and grading principles

* Knowledge of jobsite safety practices and OSHA standards

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience on roadway, DOT, or infrastructure projects

* Experience with finish grading using GPS systems

* OSHA 10 or 30 certification

* CDL (if required)

Physical Requirements

* Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods

* Ability to climb in and out of heavy equipment safely

* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

* Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs when needed

Work Environment

Heavy civil construction sites including roadway, mass grading, and site development projects.
