Operator

We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team supporting civil construction and industrial site services. The Operator will safely operate heavy equipment and excavating machinery to complete earthworks, site preparation, and material handling tasks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with heavy equipment, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively on diverse construction and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders and other machinery for earthmoving and site preparation tasks
  • Perform safe and efficient excavating, trenching, grading, and back filling according to project plans and site specifications
  • Conduct pre-start and post-operation equipment inspections, report defects and perform basic maintenance or coordinate repairs
  • Follow site safety protocols and environmental guidelines, including lockout/tagout, traffic management and erosion control measures
  • Read and interpret site plans, grades and levels; communicate with site supervisors and spotters to ensure accurate placement and measurements
  • Coordinate with civil construction crews, truck drivers and subcontractors to maintain workflow and schedules
  • Maintain accurate records of hours, fuel usage, and basic daily logs as required by the site management
  • Assist with site cleanup, material stockpiling, and placement of erosion and sediment controls when needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders) in civil construction or industrial site services
  • Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., heavy equipment operator ticket, forklift license, or equivalent) as required by local regulations
  • Strong knowledge of excavating techniques, earthworks, and civil construction processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with knowledge of OSHA or other applicable safety standards and the ability to follow site-specific safety plans
  • Ability to read site plans, levels and basic surveying references; good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; flexible to work extended hours or shift patterns as project demands
  • Valid drivers license and a clean driving record; willingness to travel to project sites as required
