PRN Switchboard Operator

Serves as central telephone communications source for the hospital. Also, monitors various alarm systems.
Ability to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to speak and understand fluent English.
Must have clear and pleasant speaking voice with excellent telephone etiquette.
Public relations skills, manual dexterity and a good memory for numbers, protocols, and emergency procedures.
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within one month.
Answers the telephone as quickly as possible and effectively facilitates/transmits incoming and outgoing calls, using a clear and pleasant manner, appropriate communication skills, and following established procedures and HIPAA guidelines
Locates individuals or transmit messages through pages, dial paging, direct calling, radio and intercom announcements
Responds to alarms and emergency situations quickly and in accordance with established procedure, without the need to research procedures or ask for assistance.
