Schedule Details/Additional Information: Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:15pm
Pay Range: $20.80 - $31.20 per hour
Major Responsibilities- Assist the dentist at chairside using 4‑handed technique for the transfer of instruments and materials.
- Ensure that all instruments and supplies are available for the planned procedure.
- Maintain a dry working area for the dentist using suction.
- Expose and process dental radiographs.
- Set‑up and break‑down the treatment room between patients.
- Maintain tray set‑ups for various dental procedures and ensure instruments and equipment are properly disinfected/sterilized between patients.
- Ensure the assigned treatment room is adequately stocked and maintained at all times.
- Perform laboratory duties, including pouring, trimming, and separating models.
- Participate in assigned duties such as drug cabinet maintenance, lab cleaning, gas level checks, spore testing, autoclave cleaning, etc.
- Provide dental assistant support for the operating room as a dental scrub nurse.
- Perform coronal polishing on patients scheduled for dental cleanings.
- Apply pit and fissure sealants on children’s teeth that meet specific criteria, as determined by the dentist.
- Attend all mandatory in‑services and education days.
- Perform quality management activities, such as pulling patient records for chart audits and validating dental assistant competency.
- Complete all required safety and survey obligations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1‑2 years of experience as a dental assistant.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program; or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Current CPR certification (will provide upon hire).
- Completion of Coronal Polishing/Application of Pit & Fissure Sealant Course approved by the State Dental Society.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; patient handling equipment should be used for lifts over 35 pounds when appropriate.
