• Field Inspections:
  Conducting electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building inspections for residential and commercial projects.
• Plan Review:
  Ensuring new permit applications meet North Carolina Building Codes and Town ordinances.
• Problem Solving:
  Interpreting complex codes for contractors, architects, and homeowners, translating technical jargon into clear, actionable advice.
• Community Standards:
  Investigating local code violations and working with property-owners to bring their homes into compliance.
• Digital Management:
  Using the Town’s database to record inspections and manage administrative tasks independently.

• Certifications:
  
  Level 1 probationary or standard certificates in Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical.
• Licensing: A valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Mindset:
  The ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and maintain "firmness with tact" when enforcing codes.
• Bonus Points (Desired):
  Knowledge of FEMA flood requirements or CAMA (Coastal Area Management Act) regulations.
