Interior Designer

Company Description Meg Brown Home Furnishings is a locally focused home furnishings retailer and design resource serving clients.

Role Description The Interior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Advance, NC. This position involves meeting with clients in the showroom and in their homes to assess needs, gather measurements, and develop design concepts. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, selecting furniture and finishes, preparing mood boards, and presenting design proposals that align with client preferences and budget.

Qualifications

• Experience with interior design and space planning, including creating functional, aesthetically cohesive residential layouts.
• Strong visual and design skills, with the ability to produce presentations, mood boards, and basic drawings or renderings (digital or hand-drawn).
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to listen, educate, and guide clients through design decisions.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail for managing measurements, proposals, purchase orders, and project timelines.
• Comfort working in a retail showroom environment, including occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require.
• Degree or formal training in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is preferred; relevant professional experience strongly valued.
• Proficiency with common design and office software (e.g., CAD or design tools, email, spreadsheets) and willingness to learn company systems. I'm
