Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprising three Federally Qualified Health Centers located in Ocracoke, Engelhard, and Manteo, North Carolina. Established in 1981 and designated as a Rural Health Center in 1982, we have a long-standing history of providing family practice medical care to our diverse communities. Guided by our mission to offer primary care services to all residents, citizens, and visitors, we prioritize serving individuals with limited access to adequate medical services.

Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Provider for a full-time position located on-site at our Manteo Community Health Center in Manteo, NC. The role involves providing comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, conducting medical assessments, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and developing customized care plans. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate medical records, educating patients about their health and treatment options, and contributing to community health initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Expertise in primary care, family medicine, and patient care management
  • Strong skills in diagnosing, treatment planning, and conducting medical assessments
  • Commitment to providing inclusive and equitable healthcare services to diverse populations, including those with limited access
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and accurate documentation practices
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism
  • Valid medical licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina
  • Certification by an accredited board in Family Medicine, General Practice, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in rural health settings or Federally Qualified Health Centers is a plus
