SUMMARY
The Success and Engagement Coach supports student success and engagement for designated student cohorts, such as adult learners, online students, student leaders, and other identified groups. The role promotes holistic engagement, persistence, and completion by providing supplemental academic and career guidance, coordinated outreach, and engagement opportunities. The Success and Engagement Coach collaborates with Success Coaches, Student Life, and other campus partners to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
This position also serves as the co‑advisor for the Student Government Association (SGA). The Success and Engagement Coach reports to the Dean of Student Development and Support Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide supplemental academic and career support to adult learners, online students, student leaders, and other identified student groups.Support students in navigating college processes, balancing academic and personal responsibilities, and staying on track for completion.Build relationships with identified student groups through regular outreach, individual meetings, and engagement activities.Identify at‑risk students and connect them to targeted interventions and support resources.Collaborate with Student Life to plan and support engagement activities and initiatives that address the needs of designated student groups.Serve as co‑advisor for the Student Government Association, supporting student leadership development, meetings, and activities.Facilitate orientations, workshops, and events that introduce students to campus resources, services, and involvement opportunities.Proactively reach out to students facing academic, engagement, or personal challenges and connect them with campus and community resources to support their success.Assist with early alert and student success initiatives by providing timely follow‑up and coordinated support for identified student groups.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student interactions, outreach, and referrals using the College's retention software.Stay current on best practices for adult learners, online learners, student leaders, and engagement outcomes to inform programming and outreach.Generate and disseminate reports related to engagement, retention, and success of designated student groups as requested.Participate in College programs, activities, and committees that promote student success, engagement, and retention.Provide professional development to faculty and staff on the unique needs of specific student groups and effective strategies to support them.Collaborate with community resources and agencies to link students to support services.Generate and disseminate reports related to engagement, retention, and success of designated student groups as requested.Demonstrate professionalism through collaboration, collegiality, and excellent customer service for internal and external partners.Model legal and ethical practices and guidelines as related to academic advising and/or counseling; adhere to FERPA guidelines, record keeping, and confidentiality.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Development and Support Services and/or the Vice President for Student Services.MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university required.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in counseling, psychology, social work or education from a regionally accredited college or university preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years' work experience in human services required. (Human services is defined as an area where service is provided to people: counseling, advising, education, customer service, instruction, social work, etc.)
- Work experience in public secondary and post-secondary environments preferred.
- The ideal candidate will possess a positive customer‑oriented focus with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
