Job Summary

The Coordinator of Student Wellness and Belonging is responsible for facilitating cultural education, inclusion, and mental health activities. Designs and implements a diverse array of co‑curricular programs and experiences, while also directing marketing efforts and managing a programming budget. This involves ensuring cost‑effective strategies and responsible stewardship of student activity fees, including the development of an annual calendar filled with events and activities aimed at fostering a sense of community among students from various backgrounds.

Additionally, the role involves advising and supporting student affinity groups and cultural organizations, guiding them towards official recognition and sustainable growth. As a key leader, the coordinator co‑advises the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, overseeing various aspects of its operations and maintaining fiscal responsibility. Furthermore, the position contributes to Student Life operations, engaging in office‑wide events, promoting involvement opportunities, and representing the office at ACC functions.

The coordinator is involved in the ACC community, serving on councils and advisory boards while actively embodying the Student Life Office's mission. This role requires a passionate individual with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, dedicated to fostering an inclusive and engaging campus environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Relevant experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience engaging diverse student populations.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education, education psychology, counseling, multicultural studies, or a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with student organization advising and training.
  • Experience working in a community college setting.
  • Experience with wellness programming including, but not limited to, mental well‑being, physical activity, drug and substance education, and health social and romantic relationships.
  • Knowledge of student development theory, techniques, and research associated with engaging diverse student populations.
Physical & Cognitive Demands

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
