Applicants must have a Ph.D in Political Science or Public Administration or a Master's Degree in Political Science or a related field that includes a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in History. All degrees must come from accredited institutions. Strong consideration will be afforded to candidates who exhibit a demonstrated record of professional experience and success in undergraduate teaching.
For positions that may include online teaching, candidates are expected to demonstrate an ability to successfully structure and implement a distance-education based course.

Job Description
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration has need for part-time or adjunct faculty to teach courses in the following subject areas:
Introduction to Political Science, Introduction to American Politics, North Carolina Politics

These positions are especially suited for potential faculty who possess terminal degrees in Political Science or have a minimum of 18 hours of approved graduate course work in relevant fields of Political Science. Excellence in teaching and learning conducted within a rigorous and stimulating environment is an important core value of the University of North Carolina Political Science and Public Administration Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and part-time faculty are expected to exhibit and maintain campus and department standards.
