This position will be the primary librarian of instructional technology and pedagogy for LIB
1000 classes and library instruction (one‑shot) sessions. The librarian will serve as the contact for instruction requests and scheduling, assist with weekend reference coverage, participate in assessment reporting, and coordinate the department for library outreach, collaborations, and library programming.
- Supervise library technician(s) within the instruction department.
- Develop and maintain online learning materials for the library, including learning management systems, Open Education Resources initiatives, Lib Guides, AI, digital repositories, and other innovative digital tools.
- Design collaborative materials for librarians with instruction duties—including Instructional Resource modules, tutorials, and interactive content for library instruction and course offerings.
- Teach undergraduate LIB
1000 (3 Credit) semester classes and library instruction sessions using the Association of College and Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. - Assess instruction services and activities within the scope of online learning by writing reports and performing data analysis.
- Promote the library instruction department with active campus communication, online content creation, marketing materials, resource tutorials, and student programming.
- Represent the library department as a campus leader collaborating in retention methods through orientations, admissions events, and student programming for first‑year, transfer, and graduate students.
- Maintain active research and learning within the profession.
- Provide flexible late‑night and weekend coverage for outreach and campus initiatives.
- Perform occasional weekend reference services face‑to‑face and online.
Management preference:
Supervision of library technicians and student workers preferred; academic library experience preferred.
Required:
MLIS degree. ALA‑accredited master’s degree is required.
