Job Summary:

Currituck County Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support student learning and assist teachers in daily classroom activities. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and help promote academic and social success for all students.

Responsibilities:

* Assist the classroom teacher with instruction, classroom management, and preparation of materials.

* Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.

* Supervise students in various settings including the classroom, lunchroom, playground, and during transitions.

* Support students with special needs as assigned.

* Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.

* Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, grading simple assignments, and organizing supplies.

* Attend training, workshops, and meetings as required.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework or Associate's degree required.

* Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

* Basic knowledge of child development and instructional strategies.
