Position Summary
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is looking for a full-time instructor in our Engineering department, focusing on Mechatronics. The Mechatronics Engineering Technology instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in first-year courses within the Electronics, Mechanical, and Mechatronics Engineering Technology programs. This role primarily supports the Mechatronics certificate and focuses on teaching core courses including Industrial Safety, Fluid Power, Circuit Analysis, and Introduction to Automation.
The successful candidate will engage students through hands‑on, applied learning experiences that align with industry standards and workforce needs. In addition to classroom and laboratory instruction, the faculty member is expected to support student success, participate in curriculum development, and contribute to program and departmental initiatives.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in the industry, or instruction of related course material.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
- Masters degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field

Duty and Responsibilities
Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content in order to achieve course objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student learning outcomes.Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.Update, communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.Work collaboratively with the College’s support services to identify and address the students’ academic support needs.Utilize College technology for the delivery of instruction and completion of operational processes, including the College’s learning management system, email and calendaring solution, document management system(s), student information system, and employee portals.Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order.Support student mentoring, advising, registration and recruitment efforts, as appropriate or required.Participate in professional development opportunities (selected or assigned) in order to enhance and apply knowledge/skills within the discipline, to effectively utilize required course technology and College applications, and to maintain licensures (as applicable).Facilitate a positive, student-centered, and professional environment among students, faculty and staff.Participate in College meetings, events, and committees as appropriate or required.Attend and participate in the annual graduation ceremony.#J-18808-Ljbffr
