Location: Warrenton

This contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher is designed for professionals ready to make a real difference with a caseload of 12 middle school students in a mild to moderate, self-contained classroom. You'll work a consistent full-time schedule from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, guiding and empowering learners every step of the way.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education (EC/SPED) for North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students who have mild to moderate special needs, preferably in a self-contained or middle school environment.
  • Commitment to individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborative team approaches.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for fostering achievement, social-emotional growth, and independence among students with exceptional needs.
  • Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies based on student needs and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored instruction in a structured, self-contained classroom setting to a small caseload.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs, working closely with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages each student's growth.
  • Maintain open, collaborative communication with parents, administrators, and fellow educators.
  • Track and report on student progress and behaviors, proactively addressing challenges.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as needed.
This opportunity allows you to build meaningful relationships with students while advancing your career as a Special Education Teacher. You'll be working a Monday-Friday, 7:15am-3:15pm schedule, ensuring work-life balance and consistency.
