Western Carolina University is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology for a nine‑month, fixed‑term appointment beginning August 2026. The position is in the Department of Anthropology & Sociology on the main Cullowhee campus.
Position SummaryThe Visiting Assistant Professor will teach a 3–4 course load within the university’s undergraduate sociology program. All sociological specialties are considered; preference will be given to candidates with expertise in health sociology, global and transnational sociology, organizational and industrial sociology, or related areas.
Qualifications- Minimum:
Master’s degree in Sociology or ABD status in Sociology by 8/1/2026. - Preferred:
Ph.D. in Sociology or a related discipline.
Time‑Limited Full‑Time, nine‑month fixed term.
