• Graduation from high school
• Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
• Qualifications required under the provisions of “No Child Left Behind”
• Completion of 48 semester hours of college credits, or an associate degree
• Successful completion of a series of Work Keys assessments
• Obtain 96 contact hours of appropriate staff development
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

• Supervise students in a behavior management program who have been assigned to the planning room
• Make parent contacts to inform them why their child is in the planning room
• Regulate a “no fun” atmosphere encouraging students not to make a repeat visit
• Provide class work to be completed during students’ stay in the planning room
• Declare students ready to return to class before they can leave the planning room
• Maintain firmness, fairness, and rigidity in interactions with students
• Apply non‑confrontational behavior intervention strategies; handle students who may be angry or disrespectful
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor

• Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; negligible force frequently to move objects
• Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, kneel, crouch, or perform repetitive motions as required
• Use visual acuity in preparing and analyzing written or computer data; visually inspect small defects or parts
• Operate a variety of machines, motor vehicles, hand and job‑specific equipment and tools
• Determine accuracy and thoroughness of work; observe general surroundings and activities
• Communicate by spoken word to express or exchange ideas, conveying detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Work safely in situations of exposure to blood‑borne pathogens requiring specialized personal protective equipment
