Position: Full-Time 9 month Accounting Position
Location: Kerr

OPEN UNTIL FILLED

Full‑time Accounting faculty are responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate Accounting courses. Faculty will develop and deliver engaging courses, align them with the curriculum, design and grade assignments, participate in meetings, and collaborate to enhance the program.

Faculty work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with at least 24 on‑campus hours Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required during advising and registration periods. Faculty support student success by facilitating learning inside and outside of class.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide appropriate and effective instruction.
  • Teach classes per the College’s teaching load formula in combinations including day, evening, weekend, off‑campus, and on‑campus requirements.
  • Provide relevant learning opportunities that promote student engagement and retention.
  • Stay current in the field and in teaching methodology.
  • Create meaningful assessments and evaluate student work according to departmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including course attendance.
  • Be available to students during office or lab hours for assistance.
  • Provide regular grade updates through the Moodle gradebook.
  • Provide accurate, informed advising.
  • Maintain accessible office or lab hours.
  • Understand College policies and procedures, degree requirements, and transfer agreements.
  • Provide students with current information regarding career opportunities.
  • Be informed about College services and support for students.
  • Recruit students, including participation in open houses, College events, and recruitment fairs.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Build positive, effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Participate in student club activities and events.
  • Assist with accreditation reports.
  • Assist with live projects as relevant.
  • Serve on College committees and other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as a club advisor.
  • Participate in department events and projects as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications
    • Must hold a Master’s degree in Accounting; candidates with a Master’s in a related field and at least 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting may be considered.
    • Prior college‑level teaching experience.
    • Strong academic foundation and ability to teach a range of undergraduate mathematics courses.
    • Commitment to engaging students, developing innovative teaching methods, and contributing to the growth and development of the Accounting program.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse audiences.
    • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
    • Reasoning ability to follow written or oral instructions.
    • General knowledge of database, internet, spreadsheet, and word‑processing software.
