Job DescriptionCLASSROOM TEACHER
Job Goals:
To plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development in the 21st century.
Responsibilities- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and continuously improve instruction
- Ability to analyze situations, determine possible options, and make appropriate decisions based on data
- Must be able to use a variety of technology and classroom tools
- Ability to manage instructional time and student behavior
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to consult with parents, teachers, administrators and the community to enhance the learning of students
- Ability to monitor student performance
- Ability to interact within the educational environment
- Coordinate and direct activities of Teacher Assistant, if applicable
- Perform other related work as required
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area
- NC Teaching License or qualifications to obtain NC Teaching License
- Strong background in North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, exhibit manual dexterity to dial phone and enter data, read screens and printed material, hear and understand speech, speak in audible tones, exhibit physical agility to lift up to 25 lbs to shoulder height and 50 lbs to waist height, bend, stoop, sit on floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.

Term of Employment: 10 months, unless otherwise specified
Salary:
North Carolina Teacher Salary Scale + $2,000 LCPS Supplement
Evaluation:
Performance evaluated in the NC Educator Effectiveness System accordance with Board policy.
