Lecturer/Assistant AD for Athletic Training & Sports Medicine

Position within the Department of Kinesiology and UNC Pembroke Athletics. The role combines athletic training leadership, teaching undergraduate courses, and administrative responsibilities.

• Provide comprehensive medical care for assigned teams, including all activities, travel, nights, and weekends.
• Maintain electronic medical records in accordance with university, conference, NCAA, and federal standards.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate student workers and assistant athletic trainers.
• Coordinate referrals to team physicians and other healthcare providers as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, including concussion management and Employee Assistance Programs.

• Teach undergraduate courses assigned by the Department Chair.
• Maintain up‑to‑date course materials and gradebook through Canvas.
• Provide timely feedback and support to students via email and office hours.
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental meetings.

• Serve on the Senior Athletics Staff and engage in department planning and decision‑making.
• Assist the Director of Athletics with development, management, and evaluation of training protocols.
• Oversee budget planning and purchasing for the Athletic Training department.
• Foster collaboration between Athletic Training, coaching staffs, Student Health Services, CAPS, and other university departments.
• Represent the university at conference meetings.
• Carry out additional administrative duties as assigned.

• Master's degree in athletic training, a subdiscipline of kinesiology, or closely related field.
• 1–3 years of athletic training experience working with collegiate athletes (preferred).
• Taught undergraduate coursework (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of NCAA regulations and athlete health standards.

• Must hold Board of Certification (BOC) certification and current CPR/AED certification.
• Eligible to obtain a North Carolina athletic training license by August 2026, or hold a current license through NCBATE.

Position requires 9 months per year with evening, weekend, and travel commitments.

To be provided as part of the role; duties include supply ordering and equipment maintenance.
