Exceptional Children Inclusion Teacher
Location: Montgomery Central High School - Troy, North Carolina

Job DescriptionReports To: Principal
Supervises: May coordinate and direct the activities of teacher assistants.
Purpose: To plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.
Duties and Responsibilities- Management of Instructional Time:
Coordinate, plan, and assist in instructional delivery; prepare materials, supplies, and equipment; start lessons quickly; maintain high student time‑on‑task. - Management of Student Behavior:
Establish rules and procedures for routine matters, verbal participation, movement, and transitions; monitor behavior during various activities; address inappropriate behavior promptly and consistently while maintaining student dignity. - Instructional Presentation:
Begin lesson with review, introduce objectives, speak fluently, present concepts, provide examples, assign tasks, ask questions, pace the lesson, manage transitions, and summarize main points. - Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance:
Set clear standards, circulate during class work, use oral and written checks to monitor progress, pose clear questions. - Instructional Feedback:
Provide feedback on in‑class and out‑of‑class work, affirm correct responses, use probing or clarification for incorrect or no response. - Facilitating Instruction:
Align instructional plan with curricular goals, use assessment data to develop/revise objectives, keep accurate records, match goals and strategies, utilize available resources. - Interacting Within the Educational Environment:
Treat all students fairly, interact effectively with students, co‑workers, parents, and community. - Performing Non‑Instructional Duties:
Carry out assignments as needed, adhere to laws, policies, and regulations, pursue professional development.
Degree in education or related field qualifying for licensure by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
Minimum Qualifications- Physical:
Able to use classroom equipment, lift minimally, stand/walk light work. - Data Conception:
Ability to compare and judge data characteristics. - Interpersonal Communication:
Ability to speak and signal, receive instructions. - Language Ability:
Read various documents and prepare correspondence. - Intelligence:
Apply logical thinking, interpret technical instructions. - Verbal Aptitude:
Deliver information, explain procedures, follow instructions. - Numerical Aptitude:
Use math formulas, add/subtract, multiply/divide, work with decimals/percentages, apply statistics concepts. - Form/Spatial Aptitude:
Inspect items for dimensions. - Motor Coordination:
Coordinate hands and eyes with office equipment. - Manual Dexterity:
Handle office equipment and hand tools. - Color Discrimination:
Differentiate colors and shades. - Interpersonal Temperament:
Handle people beyond instructions, work under stress. - Physical Communication:
Talk and hear, use telephone.
- Monitor safety and well‑being of students in inclusive activities.
- Motivate students.
- Maintain a clean, orderly environment and perform general clerical duties.
- Maintain order and discipline in classroom.
- Operate common office machines.
- Maintain basic files and records.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
