Math Teacher Leader
Position Summary
The Catamount School Math Teacher Leader is an EHRA non‑faculty position with instructional duties. The selected candidate will teach mathematics to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students, and may also serve as an instructor for curriculum and middle‑grades education courses in the School of Teaching and Learning role includes supervising interns in middle‑grades education and sharing program responsibilities across the Catamount School.
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching math to students in grades 6–8.
- Co‑teaching with EC teacher leaders and collaborating with in‑service teachers in public school settings.
- Engaging students through technology‑rich, flexible environments.
- Supervising middle‑grades education interns.
- Participating consistently in all aspects of The Catamount School.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Eligible for a North Carolina teaching license in middle‑grades math; those not already in process must obtain and provide evidence of licensure eligibility by August 2026.
- Graduate degree in elementary or middle‑grades education, mathematics, math education, and/or National Board Certification.
- Experience teaching 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in public schools.
- Demonstrated collaboration across disciplines, ability to co‑teach and support in‑service teachers.
- Experience with project‑based learning, standards‑based grading, and technology‑rich instruction.
Permanent, full‑time.
