Phlebotomist Instructor
Provide basic training for the entry-level skills needed to work as a phlebotomist in various health care settings. Instruct phlebotomy students in classroom, laboratory and clinical setting to learn the skills needed to work as a phlebotomist.
This position posting runs on a continuous open cycle and creates a pool of candidates for consideration when part time employment is available. Applicants are reviewed when they apply and the hiring coordinator is notified of all qualified applicants. Applicants are notified if they have been selected to complete a hire process only if a job is available to be filled for class instruction.

Job Duties
Promotes College mission, values, and vision
Teaches assigned courses to meet program needs
Evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback
Prepares lesson plans, course overviews, and course syllabi
Uses and promotes appropriate technology to enhance student learning outcomes
Plans classes
Maintains equipment and ensures proper storage and security of supplies
Determines need for supplies; ensure proper storage
Maintains cleanliness of class and lab areas
Assists in the evaluation of courses and programs
Prepares and submits attendance records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy
Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College
Learns new guidelines and procedures for state and national certification requirements
Creates a student-centered environment for on and off campus students
Works toward operational excellence; continuous improvement of processes and seek help from advisory committees
Implements innovative strategies to meet the needs of students and improve processes
Interacts with co-workers and performs tasks with the highest level of integrity
Works cooperatively with faculty, staff, students, and our learning community
Promotes and supports HCC's mission, vision, and values and promotes and supports coworkers in the most positive manner.
QualificationsMinimum
- High school diploma
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a phlebotomist
- Must be able to travel to clinical sites for student placement and clinical experience
Preferred
- A minimum of 1 year of prior teaching experience in a classroom/lab setting
- Prior teaching experience in a community college
- ASCP /ASPT certified
